community commitment
As long-standing members of the village, we pride ourselves on supporting the community, sustainable tourism and diversity. We support local businesses as often as possible, as well local events and artistic productions, especially those at the nearby Barn Theatre.
OUR community
is important to us!
We are committed to supporting the local village as well as the wider Sekler and Transylvanian communities and giving back.
We are committed to supporting the local village as well as the wider Sekler and Transylvanian communities and giving back.
We are developing a bespoke apprenticeship program designed to help young people get into hospitality and develop them into the chefs and hoteliers of the future.
In collaboration with the Sándor Center, our non-profit organization supporting the arts and innovation, we produce the "Rengeteg Culture" music, theater, film and arts festivals and youth camps year-round to bring cultural activities to the region while also giving opportunities for local artists.
We support local charitable organizations helping underprivileged children, including the Szent Ferenc foundation and the Csibész foundation, with cultural workshops and apprenticeship opportunities.
Sustainabilty
We are always looking for ways to reduce our footprint, care for, and protect the environment. We also hope to demonstrate to other businesses that sustainability is not only a good thing to do but also contributes to business success.
Here are some of the ways we are working towards being a greener and more socially responsible business…
Kitchen
Our kitchens endeavor to use local food and beverage suppliers within 25 kilometer radius of our facilities, reducing delivery and packaging costs and waste.
We compost all organic waste.
Preference is given to low- or no-waste suppliers using packaging that can be recycled or composted.
Reuse, recycle and re-purpose
We recycle all glass, cardboard, paper and plastic.
Our bars have removed all plastic including stirrers, straws and picks.
Hotel rooms are stocked with natural, environmentally friendly products and linens.
We recycle all coffee capsules from bedrooms and use only ground coffee in our restaurant.
All menus use recyclable paper, are not laminated and are recycled after use.
Old linens are rigged to use for cleaning.
All lighting has been updated to LED bulbs, reducing our overall electricity consumption
Inclusion & diversity
At all of the Sándor Estate properties, we do not discriminate in our hiring practices nor our commitment to the highest level of service to our customers based on age, gender, religion, ethnicity, race, culture, sexual orientation nor education background.
In the workplace
It’s a simple idea, really: a diverse workplace incorporates unique individuals with a wide range of skills, perspectives, and experiences. While these workers may be different, they bring together those diverse backgrounds in order to create unique experiences for our guests that can’t be found elsewhere. It’s a proven fact; diverse companies are more profitable, innovative, and generally perform better.
Our customers
An even more simple idea: give every guest high quality unique experiences regardless of who they are and they will feel passionately about the company, and keep coming back while also telling all their friends. That’s why we’ve embedded a culture of equality in to our company, try to respond to incidents quickly and put I&D and fair treatment at the heart of our customer experience.

The Arts & Culture
Support for the Arts goes without saying at our properties. Art lives in throughout the villa and at this inventive spot you’ll find all manner of creative visual and performance arts, from the classics to contemporary (and of course local folk arts!)
Our Zeyk Bistro itself is the product of the global arts community. From the design of the dining room to the creativity in the kitchen, creativity runs in our veins. The entire Janka Villa property, including the Zeyk Bistro is an ever-changing living gallery of visual arts highlighting the works of local as well as guest artists from all over Europe. Remember, most works are for sale. Ask the staff!
